Procedure for Anticavity Toothpaste

  1. Weigh ingredients in advance.
  2. Mix Phase 1 ingredients.
  3. Phase 2 – disperse the cellulose gum into PEG-12. Then, add the remaining ingredients.
  4. Combine Phase 1 and Phase 2 with high shear mixing at 1700 rpm for 30 minutes.
  5. Add Phase 3 ingredients to combined Phase 1 and Phase 2. Mix under vacuum for 20 minutes.
  6. Stop mixer. Add Phase 4 ingredients and mix under vacuum at half speed for 10 minutes.
