This Powdered Hair Styling Aid with Dry Water is an innovative formulation using Evonik’s “dry water” technology for a matte effect!
This formulation features AEROSIL® R 812 S which is a fumed silica that has many applications in hair care products. This ingredient provides a volumizing effect to styling aids, and since Dry Water contains mostly an aqueous phase by weight, the formulation also moisturizes the hair. AEROSIL® R 812 S provides effective rheology control in complex liquid systems.

Procedure for Powdered Hair Styling Aid with Dry Water
- Completely dissolve and mix sodium benzoate, copolymer, and citric acid into water.
- Put all ingredients into a blender with AEROSIL® R 812 S and blend at high speeds for about 45 seconds – 1 min.
- Store powder in a polyethylene or polypropylene plastic container. Do not store in glass.
