ZEODENT® 103 is Evonik’s highest cleaning silica that offers excellent cleaning and whitening when used as a stand-alone abrasive, or it can be used as a “booster” in combination with ZEODENT® 113 cleaning silicas.At varying dosage levels, ZEODENT® 103 allows formulators to achieve a broad range of cleaning and whitening performance.
ZEODENT® 165 is a dental thickener offering outstanding performance when building high levels of viscosity is essential. This is useful when formulating toothpaste that over extreme cleaning and whitening because most high cleaning silicas do not build sufficient viscosity on their own. ZEODENT® 165 also delivers exceptional optical clarity, making it the first choice when formulating toothpastes.

Procedure for Whitening Toothpaste
- Weigh ingredients in advance.
- Mix Phase 1 ingredients.
- Phase 2 – disperse the cellulose gum into PEG-12. Then, add the remaining ingredients.
- Combine Phase 1 and Phase 2 with high shear mixing at 1700 rpm for 30 minutes.
- Add Phase 3 ingredients to combined Phase 1 and Phase 2. Mix under vacuum for 20 minutes.
- Stop mixer. Add Phase 4 ingredients and mix under vacuum at half speed for 10 minutes.
