BASF initiated the exploration of rambutan tree’s various cosmetic properties, with the ambition to ensure sustainable use of the resource and generate a positive impact on the supply chain development. Based on the rambutan resource (Nephelium lappaceum), BASF developed three new bioactive. Nephoria™ is an extract of the evergreen rambutan leaves. Through its action on several major biological targets involved in collagen synthesis and elastic fiber assembly, Nephoria™ stimulates both collagen and elastic fibers formation, increasing skin elasticity and reducing wrinkles appearance to help the skin look visibly younger.
