Description

Phytosoothe™ LS 9766 is a compound of phytosterols from canola (rapeseed) and cetearyl alcohol, positioned as a vegetal biomimetic active. It is structurally similar to cholesterol, offering a scalp soothing effects (anti-inflammatory tested in-vitro). The material also beautifies the hair (as shown by a clinical study with a panel of African descent). Applications include: soothing shampoos and hair relaxer pre- or post-treatments, i.e., conditioners or hair masks; hair straightening treatments. This material is easy to handle and is energy and cost-effective due to the lower heating requirements for its production compared to pure phytosterols.

The skin barrier is essential for the protection of the human body against the environment. Lipids and structural elements of the stratum corneum provide a physical barrier. The microbiotic barrier consists of microorganisms present on the skin surface, but also in deeper layers. They help to defend against the growth of pathogens. Both the physical and the microbiotic barrier are subject to damages by environmental impacts. Phytosoothe® LS 9766 accelerates the recovery of the skin’s barrier function after impairment. It supports a healthy microflora, increases hydration and reduces the trans-epidermal water loss.
